HAS Bus Queues
Just got in from a flight and had to line up behind about 200 office staff to get back to Hello Kitty City. Two missed buses later and finally got on. Just what you need after a long flight.
Do crew in uniform not have priority? Surely crew trying to get to and from work should have priority over office staff going for lunch at the airport.

If they booted the P.C. family-affiliated, crXp-serving 'M-x-m's' out of Hello Kitty City and replaced it with the stalls that used to be there, crew might have more of a show of getting on the lunchtime bus at first attempt!

After a long haul, I go to the front of the queue and do not feel the least bit bad about it. I have never had anyone say a single word to me. That is probably because I look like hell after a ULH.
HKGpilot, for based crew it is most definitely a crew bus!!! How else are they expected to get to the HH. I think lunch break in T2 falls somewhere behind getting ULH crews to their place of rest.
I would be happy to discuss this with someone on the 3rd floor over tea and crumpets if challenged...

I agree with cxorcist to some extent in that the HAS bus does take based crew to their accommodation to start their rest period. Not only that, it would be unreasonable to expect to have to wait in line at an outports for crew transport so why the different mentality in HKG?
However, rather than simply go to the front of the queue and annoy the ground staff (most of whom think we're a bunch of prime donne) it would be better to arrange a separate bus, like those provided for selected based cabin crew. When the crew have taken their seats it would be reasonable to then allow the ground staff to share the transport. IOC know the ETA of ULH flights that arrive over the busy period so it would be a simple matter to arrange the transport accordingly.

Just advise CC that your FTLs will need adjusting or fill out a Commander's Discretion report for having to extend your duty, then refuse to reduce your rest pushing your departure back.
That will get their attention fast and you'll have a bus within a week's time.

Call CC
I never call CC until I get to my HH room and always tell them it is 10 hrs before I can leave the room, they seem to accept that.
There was a crew notice years ago reminding us it is not a crew bus, maybe we should go get a blue taxi and send the bill in.
Even worse is getting the AEX back from the Wanch in the morning and needing a little girl to help hold you up in the queue of office workers.

This has happened to me several times before a duty. I subsequently sign on late and take a very comfortable private bus to the aircraft and put the subsequent delay down to crew transport not available. Every airport in the world recognize that there is little point having the pax get to the aircraft if the crew are waiting in line. Unfortunately our gurus don't care about OTP so why should we.
Most HK rest are not minimum so can't help you with that.

Not quite, stp...
Only the Captain has to call from the airport terminal.
If any member has an outstanding message, they should call CC - it doesnt say when or from where.
Obviously if you cannot operate any more, then calling from the HH is okay. If, however, you could be asked to integrate, then it would be a difficult to explain why the call came in a bit later...

Quite so...

You're right - I stand corrected. However, in previous posts, Fly747 has indicated that he is a captain, hence the admonition.

After the LL event the flight-crew had to wait over an hour on the tarmac at the a/c for transport to What-a-****ty-City. And when it came it wasn't anyone from flight-op's in the DFO's company Audi, it was engineering in our ****ty little van.....
Flt op's were too busy doing something else.....
- Barn Door - check
- Horse - check
- Arse - check
- Covered - CHECK!
CATHAY PACIFIC - SERVICE STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART!
