HKG Delays Evening of 20 Sep 1010

I've been in the business for a good while, been to HKG a bit. I have never seen the kind of delay that was going on at HKG last night.

My hat is off to the Delivery controllers: bloody well done, keeping your cool with the constant requests for preferential treatment.."..we are running out of hours... our destination has a curfew..."etc.

I was keeping a running fix on who was where and it seemed pretty fair to me.

Again. HKG controllers: nicely handled.

More delays tonight with a German registered 747-400F sitting on the threshold of 25L resting on its left wing. Looks like the left gear retracted after they lined up! Plenty of delays.
