Exclamation Attn: CX Mgmt

Delta Airlines will be hiring soon as will several other US carriers in the very near future. Do something now to stop fu*$ing your NA crews or face the strong likelihood of another 2007-like mass exodus. Your rostering is absolutely ridiculous and your pay for the freighter guys is laughable.

That is all.

Most of the major Us legacy airlines have more pilots over the age of 60 than bellow the age of 45!!!
I think you can see what is going to happen in the future.

Good, I should expect my upgrade in 2039 then, about 6 years before retirement.

Of course by then I'll be working for Air China and will have been grafted at the bottom of their seniority list so who knows...

Angry Thanks AOA

You can thank the AOA for that!

DEC's, Yippee!

BTW, the AOA signed off on this! The AOA has let this happen.

Another planet

Saturn - you are indeed on another planet.

The AOA is not some alien organization. Don't whine about what the AOA can or cannot do for you, but find out what you can do FOR the AOA. We are as a good as we make it. An individual moaning about the company is just a noise.

What is your alternative?

The "AOA" are Cathay Cockpit Crew, Saturn.
If you don't like the direction maybe you should provide positive input into the association instead of complaining.
What action would you take if you were Association President?
What support would that action get from the membership?
Remember when you disparage the "AOA"; you taking a shot at 75% of CX pilots.

curious...

I'mbatman,

Could you run those numbers again, but this time show number of crew that are older than 55, year by year, with the assumption that they will retire at 65. Possible?

Everyone on that list that retires 2020 or earlier is a current cx pilot over the age of 55.....I count roughly 227 guys.

Good to see that CX has a high percentage of east coast north america based pilots about to disappear when they have finished their 777 line training basing around asia now for a white/purple/orange airline paying more in the USA for flying the same aircraft type.

When you hire people who have total disregard to their fellow employees, how do you expect them to have any regard to their employer.

"Hoello this is Cafe Screw Control you have missed you allocated sign on for Fi Xs 988 can you call screw control immediately on 4742 9948"

Its great how the additional four 777F that are arriving this year and the five 777F arriving next year come with crews that are already type rated compliments of Cafe.

Heh, while agree that Fedex/UPS are much better choices for NA crews than CX in the long run, the idea that new hires will have seniority to hold a 777 seat is unrealistic

What difference does it make? Their smallest airplane provides far better remuneration.
