For useful info, goto the AOA Forums
There are discussions going on, and more importantly actual GC members responding to questions you may have on all this SLS/COS08 stuff going on the AOA Forums at the HKAOA website.
I highly advise others to take a look and get some real information back from real GC members, not an anonymous internet forum. This issue is probably a little too important for that.

It's worth noting that a lot more accurate information can be obtained from the AOA Forums rather than here, where rumors are the norm.
Just look at the poll about Cos99/Cos08 that was done on this site! It's a joke!

Actually, these web-boards are a lot more accurate in reading the Cathay pilot's pulse than the any forum which identifies its posters. Let me explain.
In a person to person conversation, you know who you are talking to and you know who is listening. Only an idiot blabbers away without regards to their company, we've all been there to witness such uncomfortable scenarios, sometimes up close. But this is when you are face to face - you know your audience and you know what you should hold back.
In an electronic setting, you do not know who your audience is. Management might be reading this sentence right now, so anonymity is the only way to get the honest opinion from someone on-line. I don't know who my audience is, so I would never post on any AOA forums. Even if they are de-identified, I don't trust the AoA to keep it confidential since they've yet to show me a hard stance against management.
I think most people on here can tell when someone is pitching a wind-up, or when they are just fishing or starting a rumor. There are indicators which are pretty obvious to even the least internet-savvy poster.
I say keep posting your opinions here, no matter how silly or un-popular. Unlike other forums on PPRUNE, this one seems to be quite uncensored. Free speech at its best.

Flyingkiwi,
The applications for the AOA can be found in the mail room by the AOA bulletin board. How much louder do you want it? It's been there for the last few years now.

I couldn't agree more. Give me unsubstantiated rubbish and propaganda anytime, always worth a chuckle and easy to spot for smart guys like us. For those humourless types who want factual answers to actual questions, they can go and waste their time on the AOA site.
We can hang out here and keep on making stuff up. Did you hear the latest, NR is actually Janet Jackson!

I wasn't referring to "facts" on the offers, obviously, you would go to the source when it comes to facts. I was referring to opinion, which is quite different.
You might want to work on your "listening skills", or in this case, "reading skills". Go ahead an re-read my posts, maybe you'll understand what I said the second time you read it, but probably not.

flyingkiwi,
Yes, the AOA office is still across the bridge. I think there is a map giving directions to the office on the AOA noticeboard in the mailbox room.
That is of course if NR hasn't ordered it's removal..

You're right Sqwak, couldn't bring myself to read the whole thing as apparently everything on PPRUNE is uncensored, silly and un popular (that is the bit of your post I did read).
I liked the exclamation marks in your reply though. See if you can work "laser" or "molten magma" into your next post. Broooohahahhaha
