would have been nice to have seen a clear policy on "no more extensions"!
i really struggle with having to give up salary whilst extensions (that are obviously not needed) remain!

Unfortunately its not just giving up on salary but also housing allowance if you are a renter at pro-rata rates. You gotta love Tony, Nick and the boys living it up in their Swire houses FOR FREE.

Really? From what I see below, it's only salary and things like C&T allowances...?
Monthly Salary is defined as basic salary and those title or rank related fixed allowances that are included for calculating discretionary year-end bonus and profit share.

They don't want unpaid leave because they have too many pilots. If anything, they are understaff. They just want to reduce they're costs. This is a paycut, not leave without pay. This will most likely be implemented the way that they say. So if your pay grade, say level C, is required to take 3 weeks unpaid leave, they will deduct it over six months, and will most likely be split over six months. So every months you will get 5 days off marked as UPL in your roster, but not necessarily all at once and consecutively.
It is a pay cut son, Cathay is understaffed as it is.

Don't Forget Your Cell Phone.
Employees participating in the Scheme will continue to be bound by the Company’s rules and regulations during the period of their leave and shall remain contactable while on leave.
I'd like to know how I will be able to afford to live in HK earning about 17,000 HKD LESS. I barely save anything as it is already.
Why the FARK should I take a 15.38% hit each month and ground staff only 3.84%......................................
As someone else said in another thread, we all get the same % bonus ( when we get it !! ) in good times but not when we have to give back.
Bull Farking ****.

Since less than 10% of the total loss last year is due to market conditions and the rest due to creamers gambling with company money on fuel hedges and performing criminal acts, is it ok if I only take 10% of my UPL then?
Pretty please??

yes I know and sympathise with you.
Remember we all live to our "means" and my "means" just dived 15.84% over the next 6 months.
For what reason exactly? So we all "share the pain"
Then we should "all share equally"
ASSHOLES
I fully expect a BIGGER BONUS in the future.
