Schedule Reduction?

I have heard the engineers have notification of scheduled service reductions in CGD (3 a week on the bus instead of daily) and LHR (one service cancelled or reduced)from May onwards.
Any news from a less reliable source? A flight ops manager for example?

I have just returned from LHR and heard the same thing from the ground staff there, 253/254 will be cancelled from May. Not sure how reliable this is though.

Not one spare seat in first/business/economy plus one on the jump seat.
Same for CX 252.

My wife is a monthly on CX business class across the pacific from HKG. Both US coasts.

The business class fare booked through American Express travel (full fare) has almost halved in 12 months.

The price is largely dictated by the market. The business can control volume or price but not both in an effective way.

Cool

Can't remember all the schedule reductions, certainly LHR, CDG and FRA in europe affected.

Flts are full (it is easter!) but no yield.

...pushed back the delivery of two Boeing 777-300ERs to next year. ...talking to Boeing and Airbus to see if it’s possible to defer more deliveries and we’re also looking at what to with leased aircraft - whether to not renew leases that expire, or to try and re-lease them at much more favourable rates
With the classic fleet being disbanded, 747BCFs parked in the desert, 5x 773 gone, confirmed deferment of 2x 777er and a yet-to-be-disclosed amount of 747-800s and 777ERs, plus whatever leases we let expire, its gonna be very, very nasty.

Even I can figure this one out.

oh, damn, CDG down to 10 a week. Wasn't it the case until what... a week ago, when they increased to a twice daily flight?

So not a big change then.

The latest from Engineering is that we wont park the 777-200's. They are too good to sit in the desert. We will reduce their flying perhaps or use them for charters.

Simple economics, cut capacity so you create demand which in turn increase the ticket price..........
