We would like all crew affected by this typhoon to do what is necessary to keep the show on the road.
The Management
- Those down route are to use minimum rest of 10 hours in the hotel even though the previous duty was more than 12 hours. If not, this will be frowned on and the commander will be dealt with accordingly.
- All commanders will use discretion for extending the duty of all crews using the hours given by commander’s discretion. Again, if this is not used be prepared to speak to your Chief Pilot.
- All crew on reserve will move closer to the airport and be prepared to be worked into guaranteed days off. Yes we can do this if down route, so be prepared.
- Crews on Guaranteed days off will remain on standby at home in case we need to reduce the amount of EFP that will be paid to other crew members during this typhoon.

A little earlier whilst making our approach the wind at 5000' on base for 07L was 090/101kts and the current metar reads as follows;
VHHH 1530 10039G59KT 2200 R07R/1500VP2000U R25L/0900VP2000D R07L/0800VP2000D R25R/0500V0900D +SHRA FEW015 FEW025 BKN050 26/25 Q0993 TEMPO 2000 +SHRA=
As the typhoon moves past and the wind swings more southerly I reckon suspension of service might be a good move...
