the reason why i asked this was because of the DEFOs in YYZ and YVR.

If logic can be followed, it would appear that there was NO FOs waiting for such slots, otherwise how can there be DEFOs PAX in YVR?

Depends whether it's a Freighter or Pax roster....Obviously PAX much better.
CX is hiring directly onto a base even though HK based pilots want the slots. Fair? what else is new....

I hate to defend them, but....

So far everyone I have talked to that has been denied the YYZ base was denied in accordance with the basings policy, sh*tty policy I agree but within the rules. Unfair? yes. Breach of seniority? I am afraid not

do you have any examples of how these "basing policies" are not met by them?

DEFO's on bases????

Please explain,
The current hiring onto bases is a mystery to me. I am aware of guys being trained for these slots as we speak. The AOA has not said anything regarding it. It does state in the basing agreement...6.3 that they would not hire directly on to a base??

AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE???

I know of two Freighter FO's who took an LA pax base. THey are not eligible for a type transfer now for a few years thus unable to secure a YTO basing. Crappy policy..yes, broken...no

thanks drunk'nSailor

i've been looking at theoritically how long the wait would be, so it would be nice to know in real life how long folks have been waiting for a LAX or YVR base
