Delta/Northwest Pilot Merger Terms

The only terms that the pilots of both Delta and Northwest will accept to approve the merger (...and notice that the companies cannot merge without the pilots approval...):

Northwest pilots receive an immediate 12% raise to bring them up to the level of the present Delta payscale. As soon as the merger is effective, ALL pilots then receive a 7% raise, followed by annual raises of 5% per year for 3 years.

Most of the world's airline pilots are receiving significant improvements in pay and benefits. Why is it that the pilots of the 'worlds top airline' are receiving nothing but contemptuous crumbs...? Perhaps it is time to make the point that this airline will not grow, nor prosper without a contented pilot workforce?

Sorry but which is this "top airline" you are referring to. This forum covers all airlines in Hong Kong (and Macau to a lesser extent) so you should be more specific.
