Cathay Pacific Airways - State of mind

Does the below sentence and philosophy belong in a 2008 aviation company??

I Thought the civil aviation industry abandoned the “right stuff” and old military attitudes somewhere back in the 70’s and 80’s. Guess this just once again proves the state of mind “The Company” is really IN – and battling with! Judge for yourself.

“If I’m carpeted over this you can rest assured you will be too.
Definition:
Carpeted - (figure of speech) To stand on carpet in front of bosses desk and receive
admonishment - frequently experienced in military for screwing-up (personal experience).
