Kitesurfing Hong Kong
Hey,
In town on a layover. Tried kiting Cheung Chau's Tung Wan beach, but the wind was too southerly. Walked to Nam Tam, but too hazardous. Took a ferry to Lantau as I'd heard about Cheung Sha, but the wind had died by then. Hey, this is aviation related! I'm on a layover enroute Anchorage. Need to hook up with someone who knows the local area. Thinking of heading out to Sha Chau tomorrow on a boat. Comments? Any kiters in Hongkong?

Keep going past Cheung Sha and also Tong Fuk to a place called Shui Hau - when you have an easterly the onshore wind funnels into the valley there before being spat out over the reservoir.

Try Lamma Island,
There's a pretty power station there with a small stream that flows into a beautiful bay, perfectly clear water. Always good for kitesurfing. Just make sure you have your tetanus and Hep B up to date.
LOL
