It's out in the public domain now. I see the 3 A346's have been leased to Hainan Airlines according to the ILFC website. First one leaves in July next year.

NC, I have been trying to find your projected figures for growth vs command time without success. Would you mind reminding me what this does to those figures of yours?

Thanks.

Pay or Park

Press Release below.
If KA are parking jets up now how are "The Group" gonna fly these extras?

6 December 2007

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CATHAY PACIFIC GROUP FLEET TO NUMBER 200 IN FIVE YEARS WITH LATEST AIRCRAFT ORDER

Cathay Pacific Airways today announced a further expansion of its fleet, with a firm order placed for eight more Airbus A330-300 aircraft valued at approximately US$1.7 billion at list prices. Together with the commitment for 17 long-haul passenger aircraft and freighters announced last month, the new aircraft will take the Cathay Pacific Group’s fleet size to 200 by 2012.

The latest additions, scheduled for delivery between 2010 and 2012, will take the number of A330-300s in Cathay Pacific’s fleet to 40 – 29 are already in operation and three more are set for delivery in 2008. Another 16 of the aircraft type are operated by sister airline Dragonair, meaning the Cathay Pacific Group operates the largest A330-300 fleet in the world.

The new Airbus A330-300s will be powered by Rolls Royce Trent 700 engines that will feature a number of environmentally friendly modifications, including the latest fuel-burn improvements.

Cathay Pacific Chief Executive Tony Tyler said: "This is another significant development for the Cathay Pacific Group as we continue expanding our regional and long-haul fleets to further strengthen Hong Kong's position as a leading international aviation hub. The A330 is the most efficient aircraft for our regional and medium-haul fleet and we are delighted that with this order our fleet will grow to more than 50 such aircraft. These new aircraft will be deployed by both Cathay Pacific and Dragonair as our regional and Mainland networks continue to grow."

Mr Tyler said the Group is also considering leasing or buying more Airbus A320 aircraft to meet expected growth on secondary routes in the region. Dragonair currently operates a fleet of 16 of the aircraft type.

Cathay Pacific currently operates a fleet of 111 aircraft and has 55 aircraft - 37 passenger aircraft and 18 freighters – on firm order. Together with the 39 aircraft, including seven freighters, operated by its sister airline Dragonair and the eight freighters operated by its express cargo subsidiary airline Air Hong Kong, operated in partnership with DHL, the Cathay Pacific Group’s combined fleet now totals 158 aircraft. By 2012, taking into account retired aircraft and the return of leased aircraft, Cathay Pacific will operate a total of 155 aircraft, while the Group’s fleet will number 200 aircraft.

I thought this was a good year for revenue but now i realize just how desperate they are to hide/get-rid-of cash so they don't have to pay us that little thing called...profit share!

This place is truly bananas. Heard that guys on the 330 are getting sickness notes for less than 10 days absence in a year. Shocking when 330 Captains are averaging 3 weeks leave in a year. The next 2 years will be truly exciting with the management completely out of touch with the workforce. Enjoy the ride boys and girls we are 12 months away from our sister airline across the road. They at least have a good association. AOA where the F##K are you.

Yo Augustus

How are you going to crew all these extra aircraft without expat pilots?
Expat conditions always include totally free medical coverage.
Now that you are charging your staff to visit doctors, you are
not providing expat conditions.
To all you keen would be CX pilots, be aware that the erosion
of expat terms now includes part payment of medical expenses.
Or more bluntly- CX has again screwed its staff!
Who will come to crew all these Busses and part pay for their
own medical costs.

Expat ground staff (post '97) have to swallow the co-pay.

It should come as a relief to you that the expat engineers that are the glue holding engineering together are feeling *highly motivated* at the moment.

Interesting... The AOA claims that we "should" be exempt but the company is adamant that we are NOT exempt from the copay scheme... Who is correct here or is this just the AOAs way of keeping us quiet and avoiding conflict...

From the AOA's update at the end of November:

Right Choice – Co-payment
We have received several queries about co-pay following the publication of revisions to medical cover under Right Choice. The Company has confirmed that no pilot or pilots’ dependants will pay any co-pay for doctors or specialists consultations other than through already established co-pay benefits such as maternity cost coverage.
Can't see "should" in there, Mayday.... Not a member then?
