QL Back pay
Would any of you gentlemen happen to know what sort of back pay you are entitled to, if any, in the case of having to complete a second QL to upgrade to F/O.
Have searched through COS and Vol.1 etc. but no mention of any backpay with regards to QL at all.
Cheers, Mike

You must be joking about back pay? You really expect this mob, that probably failed your first QL to save money to then BACK PAY you?

Pass your QL first time - back paid from 6 months after the date of ALC.
Pass your QL second time - back paid from 9 months after ALC
Pass your QL third time around - you were given a third chance ?????
Essentially you lose 3 months of back pay for each failure

Well I'll be.............learn something new every day here.
They back pay you after the QL is passed, I guess that's good then.
There is a penalty if you fail it first though, and the company saves 3 months extra pay for nothing as you are still productive.
I guess it's better than nothing.

Sorry chaps, but you're all wrong. It's a miserly back-pay to ALC + 6 months. So if you do your QL on-time, and pass first time, you don't get an extra cent.
Back pay is only payable if your QL is rostered after the 6 month mark.
trust me on this one.

Why do we have Junior First Officers? You are either qualified to sit in the seat or not qualified to sit in the seat. Am I missing something?
Is the position only to reduce pay, benefits, leave, etc.?
Where is Junior Captain Bloggs? Oh yes, he is training.
