Another trickle?

http://www.flightglobal.com/articles...re-pilots.html

Will that news spur on other American airlines to start recruiting before they get left behind?

Will that recruiting tempt even more out of the CX North American based 400F fleet?

According to airlinepilotcentral.com and the various airlines websites, the following US legacy carriers are hiring:
US Airways
Northwest Airlines
Continental
Delta
United

It looks like American Airlines is the only 'legacy' not hiring because they have a lot of TWA furloughs.

Like I have said before we will not hire any furloughed legacy carrier pilots again. We have learned our lesson.

If you are a commuter pilot in the USA with jet time, your chances of being hired by The Cathay Pacific Group are very good so please join our Job Fair.

We have better pay and conditions that you currently enjoy. You will be flying some of the world’s advance aircraft and the route structure is second to none.

As for the Freighter Agreement, we are talking to our ASL Pilots and expect something in the near future. As some of you are acutely aware, the Freighter Agreement will no longer exist.

You see, we always get what we want. Freighter problem solved. You will enjoy freighter flying and the 10 day patterns that it brings. It is interesting flying as you all know.

Thank you again to all the pilots who helped The Cathay Pacific Group during these trying times. Your names have been noted and we will see that your names are not in the next group of terminations. Once again, thank you.

Some are still waiting for a double digit pay rise and some actually think it is coming. You are so naïve or stupid, most likely both. More stupid than naïve but then again you are CX pilots.

As for losing experienced pilots, there are dozens waiting for the opportunity to join the training system. We believe our younger generation pilots have the ability to train our next generation pilots. We have many younger pilots upgrading every month and soon will be in training. We offer a very extensive training package for our training staff.

When the time comes we don’t believe that our pilots will join VB. Pilots like the security of being with an established airline like The Cathay Pacific Group than with some start up that may or may not get a foothold in the market.

We think very few will leave but we acknowledge there may be a trickle. Some think it will become a flood but they are mistaken.

from a mate 'in the know', jetstar management recognise that as soon as the 787 arrives they will have to match Virgin's salary - so you can expect the salary to jump from 150-160ish to around 200ish.
