F/O freighter in MAN
Hello,
I've just been offered a position as an F/O on the classic freighter out of Manchester for CX and I'm interested to know a few things such as:
-pros and cons of flying the classic.
-schedules.
-actual pay cleared every months, all included.
-typical rotations.
Many thanks in advance...

-pros and cons of flying the classic.
plenty of sectors and handling albeit it in an old aeroplane with dials instead of glass
-schedules.
europe to dubai then hk, up and down a bit (china, korea, singapore etc) then back again to uk.
-actual pay cleared every months, all included.
about £3700 ish all in but UK PAYE issue still to be resolved and could be a double tax whammy in new year - all people in the dark at the moment!! UK and HK tax to be paid on the above
-typical rotations.
very unstable and anything from 6-12 days away with on average 5-7 days off, more likely to be the latter and former in that order.
of note classic due to go in next ?? years starting late 2008, so guys will probably do more hk flying with 12 day patterns and position to and from base. if you join on classic expect to be last off it in several years time when the final ones go.
good luck
