Hi all,
I was wondering if you are lucky enough to get excepted by Cathay (CX) in an FO position is it possible to be based directly in LON or do you have to do your stint in HK before you can go anywhere...?
Thanx p1

It's all there...
If you get a moment you might want to have a quick look at the Cathay Pacific web site. There is a reasonable amount of information about careers with the company:
It's at http://www.cathaypacific.com/cpa/en_...eers/flying/fo
Needless to say, you have to have right of abode (and work) in the country where you are seeking the basing. These are currently AMS and SYD for passenger aircraft and various N American and European bases for the freighter fleet. If you have a look at the other Fragrant Harbour forum there is quite a lot of information about joining CX.
Hope that's of some help - and good luck.
First Officers
Direct Entry First Officers are initially employed at base ports other than Hong Kong and are employed by wholly owned subsidiaries of Cathay Pacific Airways.
