Schedules

Just a question on scheduling.
I have seen the rosters from different bases and was wondering about the 'O' days following a trip. I am under the understanding these are company days that they can extend you. Do I have to remain available upon completion of a trip or can I commute home if they don't need me.
Also 'A' days, can I stay at home and commute in as needed if crew control doesn't need me.

Thanks in advance

I understand O days as you have stated, the company can extend your trip for down route disruption etc and become G's on completion of that trip.

Regarding the a days you can stay at home but need to be able to get to work "within 10 hrs" of a callout.

O Days

They can also call you in on an "O" day if you answer the phone.

You can ask CC for clarification and then ask the AOA to get the other opinion.

Cheers

5 greens, you are quite right, if you answer the phone. More likely they'll nab you before you depart from the last flight of the pattern!

The only difference between an "O" and a "G" is the "G" is guaranteed off unless you agree to give it up. With the "O" you have no obligation to make yourself available but should they contact you, you will be required to work.
