Many of us in CX think something significant is going on, but there is (unusually) very little escaping from the 9th floor or Pacific Place.

FWIW, my bet is increased shareholding and 'cooperation' with CA (maybe an equity exchange this time round), although CA may well end up in the oppostion alliance camp.

I also think the above relationship is part of the preparation for CX and allies to take a controlling interest in KA. Early next year would be my bet.

All imho only...

I bet on the status quo. As long as this CA/CX alliance stays in place, it seems to be an effective tool for CX to keep KA's ambitions in check. No need to trample on each other's shoes.

Any equity swap is bound to dilute CX's debt/equity ratio, as CA isn't the most profitable airline in the world. The same would be said of buying KA, there really isn't a substantiated case to do so.
