CX pay during training

While in training and living in the Headland Hotel for 4-6 months do you get full pay and daily allowence as if you were on a trip(per diem). If so how much is the allowence?
Thanks

You receive full pay but since you not on any trips you don't get the per diem. You could get housing allowance if you want to check yourself out of the Headland and then try to get a good rate with them at your own risk.

At Adelaide you get a allowance - approx $105 Aussie per week I think.

AV8R737,

Since you're from the states and asked about "4-6 months" of training, I assume you're refering to DEFO. If so, since you will be based in N.A., you'll receive per diem the entire time while training in Hong Kong. Enjoy.

I think our friend from Dirka-dirka-stan is thinking about DESO training. Put a jihad on him!

As a DESO you can check out of the Headland at anytime you like and begin receiving up to 21000 in housing. No per diem required. The lump sum of per diem handed out to SO's in Adelaide covers one weekend of solid binge drinking.

Hey Corny,

I think it was a nice contribution from CX that we got per diem in ADL (God that city sucks - BIG time.. wroowowolleaa flashbacks...). I suppose they didnt have to pay us any as it was all inclusive (remember all that good healthy NONE fat food.. I only missed rice while I was there..).

BUT I want to ask you - how the h... did that "per diem" last you for a hole week. One night in Heaven and it was gone man.. and, ohhh boy, if you lost it and actually started looking at the "woman" down there - you just needed those beers to come floating and NEVER ending. Truely painful...

Good luck - especially those hunting "woman" down there right now..

Haven't done it yet, but I thought DESO training was also 4-6 months?

Corny,
Thanks for the response. I was asking about the DEFO. It seems right that since you would be based in NA and are doing training in HK that you would receive per diem. Do you know how much per month you get? Also do you know what part of the 4-6 months of training is to convert to a HK ATP? and is this conversion done in HK or Adelaide like the DESO?
Thanks

Yeager,

ADL truly is one of those "best kept secrets". The all inclusive aspect is amazing: wonderful workout facilities, king sized beds, morning room service, wide screen TV's in every room, wireless internet, tons of great local restaurants nearby, and that rockin' on campus bar that is open to the late hours of every night. Not to mention the ease of getting to and from Adelaide city center. Who needs per diem when you have it all.

Those of you headed there for SO training are gonna love it!

Hi Guys,

Any info on exactly what happens in Adelaide would be greatly appreciated, i.e. do you do your HK ATP there? what exactly does finesse training consist of? etc.

Many thanks

AV8R737...

It seems right that since you would be based in NA and are doing training in HK that you would receive per diem. Do you know how much per month you get?
The allowance in HKG is HKD681 per day for the first 21 days. Then it drops to 80% of that amount for the rest of the training.

When you actually start flying later on, you get slightly less than that because they only pay for the time you are actually in HKG. Of course you will get per diem for a layover at another port (e.g. TPE, BKK or ANC) at the appropriate rate.

Also do you know what part of the 4-6 months of training is to convert to a HK ATP? and is this conversion done in HK or Adelaide like the DESO?
The licence conversion exams are done in the first two weeks of your training. All in HKG.
