dragonair SOP's

Gents,

Heard from a source that dragonair SOPS are for the PF to fly the aircraft and to work the radios all at once, instead of traditional way of the PF flying the aircraft and the PNF doing the radios is this correct? Is this standard across the airbus and Boeing fleets?

No, we don't do that. At least, not officially. We sure as hell do have some beauties though. We've got blokes making a living out of changing the SOP's.

Any of you guys like to divulge said SOPs??? Sounds like there might be some rippers! I'm assuming the Cadet pilots are responsible for all landings and takeoffs...

Pre 89 AN the (best airline in the world) required the FO to read all checklists and do bookwork while PF .Also handled radio after landing.
Not allowed to steer the brute tho, maybe just as well would have probably needed a tiller extenstion stuck up date.

SOPs

We follow Airbus SOPs.
Normal condition PF fly the A/C. PNF radiowork/the log.

During emergencies/Ecams:
PF responsible for flying/Nav/Radiowork
PNF: ECAM/QRH

Angel Adherence to SOPs!!!

SOPs great in theory and wonderful if used in practice.......
..however.....

There appears to be a genuine difference in adherence depending upon fleet !

Whether we like it or not, we have substantial cultural, experience level, language and motivational differences in KA and SOPs let us;
1. All sing off the same page
2. Help identify SA breakdowns
3. Maintain the BRILLIANT SAFETY when tired

So guys & gals !! If the Management do not want to be professional, that is their problem.... We must ALWAYS be standard & professional ...

That's what our punters pay for & that is why the pilots and the DPA will succeed !!!

when i was in An the F/O was never able to taxi the A/C or start the engines for some very good reasons, therefore on the ground he was always PNF and always did the R/T. Similar to what Virgin Blue does now.

However one stupid thing was that the F/O always read the checklist, made it hard flying a low wx circuit at night at the same time as reading the landing checklist!! somehow we coped.
