Rumor has it that both NR (CX DFO) and PW (CX General Manager Aircrew) are being moved sideways by Swire Management. Seems mismanagement of the aircrew body has gotten them in trouble.

Rumor has it CX have aircraft parked and no aircrew to fly them. The recent resignations of Check and Training Pilots have left the training department extremely short. Courses had to be cancelled and Junior First Officers training reduced.

Noticed the CX DFO in on duty travel until the end of the month (believe the DFO is in LHR getting reprimanded) and the GMO (possibly the next DFO) is doing the writing. There is no Swire Prince in the grooming for the DFO’s position and Swire may have to settle for a pilot until such a time a prince is groomed.

A high quality stir. I think you'll find that the DFO is being 'reprimanded' on a double black diamond at a well known BC ski resort. The recruitment and training regime in place and the resultant problems associated with accelerated expansion were agreed and understood by all including London.

The parking of aircraft...where?

It is indeed the time of the year for management moves, but I bet my P/Fund, that you'll have the same DFO for a bit longer. The current GMO is not in the frame and never will be.

There may however be some truth in the GMA's demise. The crass comments about resigning C & T's not willing to shoulder the workload etc. was immature and (even from a non pilot) blatantly untrue. I was told this has gone down like the proverbial lead balloon.

Don't know from whence your info flows but it is wrong.

Noone mismanages aircrew better they we ourselves. NR is not under any threat and in reality is a welcome break from what we have had for the past 20 years. No testosterone equals more rational decisions.Swire support is and always will be 100% ecause NR has done the hard yards.

The logjam in C&T and the whole Bat Cave is upgrades. This is a flow on effect from the whole s/o and long haul 3 bar system. The only people flowing through smoothly are those with strong basics courtesy of the RAF, RAAF and RCAF. The rest are struggling because they have been forced to do do too much watching and not enough handling.

Hopefully KA will fix this the way the 1011 did in the old days.

Time will tell but parked a/c ...BS. D/E captains before that day arrives.

What about USAF and US Navy? Guess they don't have "strong basics", since they can't pass command training at CX.....

What is being alluded to here is KA flying some of CX's services for them using the excess 330s KA will have when Sydney doesn't start! L1011s did it years ago during the previous period of rapid expansion.

Latest rumour is that PW (GMA) is being replaced by AL (Basings Manager?)

....great. Replace PW with a glorified clerk who could never garner the respect of the Aircrew. The last promotion seemed a joke, this one will really cause offence.

Steady on there canuck.

AL has a frozen ATPL and a couple o hundred hours from what I understand. Hell that makes her inately familiar with the operations of wide body ULH etc.

And "glorified clerk" is a bit harsh. Assistant Recruitment Officer is more like it.

"My boys" this, and "My boys" that

So are you saying PW has the respect of Aircrew now? Are you suggesting we are better off with PW than AL?
