CX News?
What's news at CX these days? Things seem to have gone very quiet, especially with the industrial action. Also heard there may be redundancies in the near future?

Dont know were you get your info from.
Most l/haul flights are full... .Destinatons suspended after 9/11 have been bought back on line.
Ok, a few a/c parked, but remember surplus A340s were leased to cover HKG-JFK non stop... .This was canned long before 9/11 so surplus a/c exist.

The company I work for is also experiencing good loads but we are being told that it is because fair prices are low and therefore yields are still not good. And therefore times are still not good. Could this be the case at Cathay as well? How many routes have been re-instated and how many aircraft are still parked?

The view down here is that the recession has bottomed. Until May, we shall be overcrewed, (allegedly), but with the pick-up expected in the second half, no crews will be laid off. That does not preclude the management having another shot at the AOA. Loads are good but yield is weak, although CX expected to announce a small profit for the year as a whole.
