Post Dragonair's Regional Jets

I understand Dragonair are considering regional jets to operate thin routes into China.

Any thoughts on what type it is likely to be and whether they will crew them from within or look for type rated people.

Cool

Fair question! How about an answer, instead of bagging.

Jane's Transport Finance heard from a banker that RJs were part of the discussion agenda with China Construction Bank, which resulted in partial finding for two B-747-300s and an A330-200.

According to the latest Aviation Week, Dragonair is expected to proceed on initial negotiations with BAE, Bombardier, Embraer and Fairchild regarding an RJ procurement in the 50-70 seat segment.

To that special topic Flight recently reported that Dragonair had thought about the introduction of A318/319 but rejected them as too big. The initial RJ fleet is supposed to be small and they have just started negotiation with the manufactures. The one with the earliest delivey positions will have an advantage (in my opinion that would be BAe).

There is a separate (not reported) and IMHO as yet unsubstantiated rumour that Dragonair is also interested in acquiring 777-300s. Does anyone have further information on this particular matter?
