The first landing on 25R CLK was made by a CX transpolar flight in a B747-400, commanded by Paul Horsting and Mike Lowes.

Who knows, just trying (obviously in vain) to get in touch with him!

Sorry, Hotdog, I meant the 'northern' runway.
Actually, I left Kai Tak on the previous night, Bob Green on CX271.
Thanks and regards, Ken

Pete Sanderson is in Dragonair. Try a letter to their Ops. I think he is C&T on the 330. I used to do Christmas shows with him in a previous company. I would like to buy him a beer too.

Cheers one and all, now in comms with the chap in question!

Many Happy returns from Blighty.

ps is the aviation club still in existence, and do they have a club house at CLK with such a good view of the runway as they did at Kai Tak?

Unfortunately, the new airport has no such facilities to spot planes. Kai Tak was the best.
