Cathay Freighter Job - 742 or 744?
Hello All,
I was recently lucky enough to be offered an F/Os position with Cathay Freight. Course doesn't start until middle of next year. Couple of questions for those of you in the know...
1. What's the score with which fleet you are placed on? Will I have the option of the 742 or the 744?
(I'm British and will prob take MAN or LHR if I can, but anywhere in Europe would be awesome).
2. If I do get a choice, what are the advantages/disadvantages between the two fleets... routes, rosters, that sort of stuff?
3. Why do I hear so many F/Os are heading back to HK after their minimum stint on the Freighter to take a Pax F/O job, even knocking back the Freighter Command to go back to HK? Is it the coin is that much better in HK?
4. What is the minimum time on the Freighter Fleet before you can transfer to Pax?
5. What's the time to Command on the Freighter?
6. Can you apply for 3 month basings on the Freighter fleet as well? Even if you don't have right of abode in the relevant countries... Canada, Aus, etc.?
