FANS on CX airplanes?
Just wondering if any CX airplanes are FANS equipped.
If yes to what extent and where can the implementations be used? It came to my mind when I read about the planned direct flight from Hong Kong to New York using the Polar Routes.

I believe all the B744 have it. Most, if not all the B777’s and some of the A340-300’s and A330-300’s. All the A340-600’s have it and they will be doing the NY nonstop. We use it regularly in Australia, Singapore, trialled in India for a while, US Oceanic, and Japan Oceanic.

FANS = Future Air Navigation System. Simply it is an automated air to ground position reporting system using computers, satellites and the GPS network. It is particularly useful in areas where there is no radar coverage, poor VHF or where the density of conventional communication is high.
