Hi all,

I have my NATS interview at Kemble St on 9th December (found out Monday that I got through the tests!). With my invitation, NATS sent a reading list, the contents of which is proving awkward to find in a library, and quite expensive to buy at an aviation shop, with no guarantees they'll arrive in time anyway!

The three titles are Air Traffic Control by Graham Duke, Air Traffic Today and Tomorrow by Ann Paylor, and UK Air traffic Control - A Laymans Guide 3rd Edition by David Graves.

Some advice please. As it appears I shall need to buy the books, is it worth me buying all 3 (difficult, as Ann Paylor's book appears to have been out of print for some years), or is one of them much better to buy and really read and digest (I now have 3.5 weeks...).

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Graham Dukes is fairly comprehensive (at a basic-ish level), and is especially relevent to the UK. If i was you, i'd just read one more thoroughly instead of skimming through 3, and dukey boys is probably a good choice, and is cheapish, and i'm fairly sure waterstones stocks it.

or try Amazon.co.uk they often have access to out of print books, and also sometimes give the option of buying second hand, at greatly reduced prices.

Bought the Dukes book though Amazon and it arrived in under a week and I think it cost about £7, so wasn't too pricy either. Seems to cover a lot of ground, although as bids says is a bit basic-ish in some places.

I found Duke to be pretty easy to understand myself. Also, the cute HR girl who interviewed me had heard of PPRUNE, so make sure you mention that too!

Mate, the very best piece of literature you could read if you want to join NATS is Dante's Inferno.

Duke's book is more than sufficient for the purposes of the interview.I too had the cute HR girl and mentioned PPRUNE.......and I got through too!
