Air Tigra
Any info on Air Tigra?
Applied for Type A operating licence for Schedules/charters.
Application address was in Nailsea,Bristol(which I think was associated with a previous start up attempt?)

Intriguing. The address listed in the Official Record is c/o 110 High Street, Nailsea, Bristol which appears to be the location of an Italian restaurant called Il Bottelino. The registered office for Air Tigra at Companies House is listed as 320 Queens Road, Sheffield.
Any of this ring any bells?

gatwicknose, thanks for that - checking their website, you're right about the address.
Strangely there is no mention of the AOC application on their website.
If I'm not mistaken, haven't two of the three individuals named on the website got more form than Red Rum?

gatwicknose - don't understand your reference to contras-r-us - am I being stupid? Iran Contras? What sort of contras? Also what was EAAC connection??
Flightrider - you're not wrong about form, encountered two of the three shown on the website, BEWARE!!!!! People involved have "colourful" history, Community Express, Big City, Celtic, Fly European, etc etc, also rumours of "problems" at Dan Air years ago for the Head Honch.

Hi Harry
its an in joke.....not able to go much further without hassle but many people in the industry have lost out to certain individuals due to spurious contra deductions and settlements...I would rather have dealt with the the Contra rebels!!!
Link to eaac was thru brokerage and close ties with the (then) MD.
Air Tigra seems to be the perfect mix of cowboys and indians, I watch with interest!

This is fascinating stuff. (Long live Pprune). I get the sense that something is coming together here.
Global Aviation Support Ltd was a fairly big creditor of EAAC prior to the CVA last April. I know because I was too, but they were well ahead of me, I think they ranked fifth or sixth. But there was something odd about it. A few of us met up ahead of the CVA meeting in Brum to discuss strategy, and we went through the creditors list very carefully. Unlike all the other creditors no one could work out what these GAS people had done to be owed all this money. Eventually we called a guy who was an EAAC insider (in a "big" way), but all he’d say was that we’d “have to wait until they made the film” to find out what it was all about. Hints then of an involvement with a very senior EAAC Director, which ties in with your comments about the MD.
Any further ideas? I catch a scent of something here.

I'm new to this game guys so maybe I pressed the wrong button and started a new thread which I did not mean to do, it must have made no sense at all to the 863 people who viewed it. What I was saying was that I have now heard that the head honch at the company starting Air Tigra has other business interests in the Papa Oscar Romeo November direction, and what a site it is. Talk about "form", the stars assets are like a dead-heat in an airship race. This seems to fit as part of a bigger picture that is really tacky and my experience bears this out. Sad or what?

Just for info, 2 of the geezers were closely tied in with the
commercial department pre-March 2004. Don't know what
happened to them after that time. I believe that they were
'commercial consultants' and worked closely with the Travel
City contract. They did work with the previous MD but not
sure if that was his doing or just due force of circumstance
to get that contract tied up etc..
I do know that they were responsible for filing the commercial
paperwork for that contract with the U.S. Authorities (DoT)
(so that we could get our F.A.R. Part 129 clearance) and there
was some delay in getting that side tied up. Might not
have been their fault, of course, then again...
Hope this is helpful.

Papa Oscar Romeo November
Odd how the registered address of a startup airline can double as a photographic studio.... Perhaps it will start a new trend in inflight entertainment......God help the pax who think that Titanic is the movie!!!!

I've only just cottoned on to this thread and it sent shivers down the spine......Good grief!
How ever these people can continue to trade is beyond me. Some years ago I had the unfortunate experience of representing an Owner whose a/c had been in the hands of the said individual. Blatant theft, blatant ignoring of rules and regulations etc etc....
It really amazes me how these people continue in our so "regulated" industry !

Hi Nato 35,
Yes I agree - people going off in an odd direction. I understand they are looking to start towards the end of the year but still have lots to do to get everything in place - would rate chances of success around 50/50.
Good luck

Guys, you misunderstand. The mods have merged you into an old thread on the same subject. No one is "going off in an odd direction", except the people behind Air Tigra.
Forget ANY thoughts of a job....how often do you read such sentiments as this from so many people? If you want a career in aviation, just forget you ever heard the name.
