Clint
It was a great idea, there are many challenges such as cringe's latest one still not posted.

Happy birthday! I wonder if anyone can compile statistics such as "Most Successful Cockpit Spotter" (me thinks Cringe is a likely winner there) and "Most Obscure Challenge" as evidenced by the number of posts taken to solve it...

Keep 'em coming - just wish I had a few to contribute...

By the way, first time I've ever seen a pic of the Ilyushin 102, which has to be a prime candidate for ugliest aeroplane ever - looks as though it was cobbled together from bits of a Handley Page Hampden (didn't the parts in the RAF Museum come from Russia?), Gloster Meteor and the tail surfaces of an F-86...

Kudos to Clint and to all the contributors to this thread from me as well. Long may it continue. I never imagined that cockpit recognition would be this interesting. Even without the figures at hand, I think Mel wins hands down as the most successful poster.

As for the present challenge, here are some hints: roughly the same era as the Farman 1000; single example built; one of the plane's designers was better known for his work in another country.

cringe. Thanks for that I think that is only because we have not seen you so often recently. If you do not mind me adding that your challenge was an aircraft that also broke a couple of records in its time.
