Renewal - ATO
For any renewal, we have to go via an ATO who will decide the amount of training required.
Such training should be performed on the aircraft available within the ATO. However does the proficiency check has to be done within the aircraft linked to the ATO, or can it be done on an aircraft not linked to the ATO or even an aircraft linked to a different ATO (but were the examiner is working). thks |

The flying can be done on any aircraft. It requires the Head of Training to approve it.
We do it all the time on customers own aircraft. |

I look at logbooks and check experience and how longs rating has expire by and then decide if they need a flight with me to assess or whether they can go straight into a test etc.
We do many, many renewals every year. You get pretty used to working out what's needed. |
Ah Bose-X,you seem to be the man........... any knowledge on how to renew a '15 year expired ' instructor rating please? current PPL, 14000 hrs ATPL, C152's to B777's.
many thanks |
Is it still on the back of your licence?
|
yes, its in the section "ratings previously held by holder"
|
also in section X11. reads:-
X11 Ratings certificates and priveleges class type IR Remarks and restrictions. IR restricted uk imc rating night nil SEP land nil No further Entries Instructors Remarks and restrictions No Entries Examiners No entries |
It will be a seminar and training as required to pass the test.
I have a course running in Jerez until the 29th that I could slot you on. |
tempting, but my theory is rusty, i was thinking of digesting pooleys manuals over the winter and renewing in the spring. is all the training and testing done in Jerez?, would the same crieria apply to my lapsed examiner rating as well?
|
We cover the theory as part of the training. All training as testing done in Jerez.
Examiner is a totally different kettle of fish. You would need to reapply to become and examiner and if accepted do the standards training again and give the AOC. |
many thanks for the information, i'll be in touch.
