JAR-FCL Application Forms

I am about to e-mail the CAA and have already checked the application form section of their website but would be grateful if anyone could shed some light for me.

I have JAR-FCL CPL SEP, UK privileges for SLMG and an FAA IR. I would like to add TMG privileges and an IMC rating to my licence. Having trawled through the SRG website, none of the forms relate particularly well to my situation. Anyone been through a similar route and can suggest which forms I should be using.

Many thanks for helping the hard of thinking,

CAA web-site. Index on the left, "Publications", "Search Publications", "Flight Crew Licensing", (way down, next to the bottom is) "Flight Crew Licensing Forms"....long list of forms.

For the TMG addition I would use the TMG Application Form

For the IMC rating, I would use the IMC Rating Application

The charges for these ratings are £64 each - until March 31st, 2003. Expect a small increase on April 1st.

Hope this helps.

Many thanks, Keygrip, but I had looked at these already. The TMG application form is for PPL applicants and does not discuss exemptions permissible described in LASORS for those with national privileges and 75 hrs. The IMC application form does not seem particularly suited to conversion of foreign IR to IMC. Unfortunately, LASORS discusses both these situations but does not point in the direction of any particular forms.

Ham - the back of the IMC form has a section where you claim "exemptions" from either 1) flight test, 2) written examination or, 3) all of the above.

"Check" option 3 - write in alongside if you wish "FAA Instrument Rating" - send to Gatwick before March 31st. (Done this MANY times)

TMG - just fill out the application - best of knowledge stuff - send off before March 31st with covering note claiming exemptions listed in LASORS.

If there is a better way - CAA will contact you directly.
