FAA Mountain Flying Endorsement

Hello,

Does anyone know where I can find information regarding a FAA Mountain Flying Endorsement, and where the areas are that require one?

thanks,

I do not believe the FAA has such a requirement for mountain flying, however, things are always changing. Perhaps an insurance company is dictating this training. A leading helicopter school offers a “mountain flying” course. I presume your interests are with FW. Try searching the web and see what comes up, I found a helicopter external-load course that way.

There is no " Mountain Endorsement"

A lot of schools offer mountain training, however their courses and quality of training vary wildly.

Usually what you end up with is some new instructor that is not much more experienced than you.

Search around and find someone that knows the subject before you choose your " course "

We have a lot of schools here in B.C. that offer " Mountain Courses " and some of the instructors have a hard time finding the mountains.

Mountain flying -training

Yea , I've also seen schools advertising a Mountain Flying Course-somewhere.

Here in South Africa there are a few survivors of a now defunct
outfit that operated in the "mountain kingdom" of Lesotho.

Some tips could be passed on from their expertise-if asked.
