Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

I would suggest that the best preparation before starting the integrated course, is to get hold of PPL level training manuals and give yourself a head start on topics like air law, principles of flight, meteorology, navigation etc.

The equipment you need will be fairly basic : Dalton Computer (best get the big CRP-1 for CPL), scale rule, protractor, dividers, simple calculator, knee pad etc. Your training provider will probably be able to supply suitable equipment or occasionally ex-students will sell off their old ones.

GoneWest is quite right. I meant the CRP-5 (its a long time since I looked at it). This has a bigger airspeed scale and covers all the CPL requirements.
Its also ridiculously overpriced at about £70 in the UK
