FI Seminar for lapsed ratings.

Hello

Does anyone know how many organisations offer renewal seminars for expired FIs of 8 years?

Checked Ontrack but they have nothing until October. Does anyone else do the seminars?

thank you

I see you are from Germany. Have you tried Ardex ATO in Berlin?

If you have expired 8 years you need training at an ATO approved to give FI Courses. The seminar was replaced with training at an FIC Provider some years ago and whilst most of this training is conducted in the form of a seminar, for those in your situation so long as the ATO is approved for FIC they can do it an any time.

Can you provide a reference for this please? I’m thinking about renewing my FI after a significant period in the airlines.

Have a look at HFTS. They have one in August, and I can throughly recommend their seminars as I attended one last year.

Next one is on 12/13 August 2025.

As well as a refresher seminar, you will need to complete sufficient refresher flying at an ATO before taking the Assessment of Competence. Refresher training requirements are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

See AMC1 FCL.940.FI; FCL.940.IRI Revalidation and renewal for full details.

Thank you everyone for your valued responses. I am in the process of trying to revalidate all these ratings including the mandatory Seminar.

Thank you.

AMC1 FCL.940.FI; FCL.940.IRI Revalidation and renewal
(c) After successful completion of the seminar or refresher training, as applicable, the ATO, DTO, or competent authority should:
(2) in case of refresher training, in accordance with point (b), issue the applicant with a training completion certificate or another document specified by the competent authority, which describes the evaluation of the factors listed in point (b)
(1) and the training received, as well as a statement that the training was successfully completed; the training completion certificate should be presented to the examiner prior to the assessment of competence.
Upon successful completion of the refresher seminar or refresher training, as applicable, the ATO or DTO should submit the seminar or training completion certificate, or the other document specified by the competent authority, to the competent authority.

I have no connection to HFTS but I can thoroughly recommend the seminar. During the two days a lot of the time was taken up with discussion and debate between the instructors rather than being lectured to.
