Keeping the rating valid or not

Hi all, reaching out in an attempt to gain some insight.

I am currently flying in the ME but I still have my 737 rating in my EASA license. I wouldnt want to "lose" the rating completely but since I am not actively flying the 737 anymore what would be the best course of action. Should I do the sim every year or maybe every couple of years with some additional training. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Cheers

How likely are you to want to use that rating in the next 5 years? You need to weigh up the cost of keeping it current vs getting it from scratch again. not applying for yout first flying job. Presumably you're flying something bigger now. If you did find yourself applying for 737 jobs, would a current rating actually help you with no recent flight hours or would they really be hiring you because of your total hours?
