Does the CRI on MEP grant privileges to instruct also on SEP? I see the extra 2 hours of practical syllabus are about asymmetric flight.

No. SEP and asymmetric flight in an MEP are two different things.

If you lose the engine in an SEP then you're a glider. That doesn't mean you can teach gliding.

There are two seperate CRI Courses, SE and ME If you want to instruct on both you do both courses. The teaching and learning element of the theoretical training is countable to both courses.

Resurrecting this thread, but could you explain what do you mean by "countable"? I assume there is no crediting towards CRI SE if one is already a CRE ME.

The countable in this case is that you only ever do the 25 hrs of teaching and learning once no matter how many instructor ratings you do.

And there's a lot of credit going from ME to SE. You only need 15 hrs in class and 1 hr of flight under supervision of an FI or CRI qualified in class. The instructor teaching you doesn't need to have the privilege to teach instructors weirdly
