Class rating instructor (ME) precourse study material

Hi

I will be attending a CRI(ME) course next month and have received material to study from the flight school. One of the study material is CAP 393 air navigation order. Does anyone know wich section or pages I should emphasize on? (It is more than 400 pages and don’t think all pages are relevant to CRI course)

thanks

There is a lot of information that by now you should know due to your experience, learn to know where to find them on the documents.
Remember you will be a mentor, guide or reference for the student. Get to know every detail, fact and system of the airplane, students will ask you.
Get proper experience with different procedures on the actual aircraft so you can demonstrate and share them.
Read CAP601 from the UKCAA is a nice guide
And your school must have a sort of MEP manual for students, get through it.
Remember to think as student and what raised your curiosity.

Not much relevant in there for a ME CRI Course! One of the best books I have found for this course is Pre Flight Briefing Manual ME Course by Mike Woodgate ISBN 1 874505 10 1

Much of the ANO will only be relevant to non-EASA aircraft. See EASA regulations below:
EASA Part-FCL, particularly FCL.700 et seq, associated AMC and GM, and Appendix 9 [Link]
EASA Part-NCO [Link]

In addition to the book by Mike Woodgate recommended by Whopity, you might find the following useful:
On-Track Aviation Instructor Manual Chapter 6 and Training Notes [Link]
CAA Standards Document 14(A) [Link]
UK CAA CAP 601 [Link]
CAA Handling Sense Leaflet 1 [Link]
AIC 64/2008 (Pink 142) [Link]
AIC 100/05 (Pink 90) [Link]
AAIB Reports [Link]

Some of the FAA information available is very good:
FAA Airplane Flying Handbook Chapter 12 [Link]
ATP Multi-Engine Training Video [Link]
ATP Training Supplement [Link]

Ah...the old Aviate, Navigate, Communicate, Pay Woodgate scenario!

Seriously though, good book.

I’m sure your training provider will have lots of other material to give you...but The ANO shouldn’t be high up that list

Its an interesting course, you should enjoy it.
