TAFS

Why are TAF's not issued for airfields that are closed?
METAR's are, i suppose they are automated.
Always useful to build a picture of what might be going on.

A TAF requires a forecaster who costs money so simple economics would mean that its not worth paying for forecasts for a location that is closed.
