Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

Management Software for Flight School

Hi guys,

The aviation industry is expanding rapidly in Asia and that means the expansion of the flight school as well. Our flight school was established 15 years ago so "pen and paper" method is what we use to manage the flight school. Well, it would be acceptable if we still have 3-5 aircrafts. Since we are now expanding into a 40+ aircrafts fleet with over 100 instructors and well over 300 students, the old "pen and paper" method is not going to be efficient anymore.

We are looking for a program that is...
- internet base
- able to schedule a flight, personal information, document, maintenance and etc.
- able to generate a full report on the flight time of the airplane as well as student and instructor
- able to generate full financial report
- nice user's interface for the ease of use.

So if you guys know any company that offers the solution to the problem that would be much appreciated.

https://flightschoolbooking.com/ is what I've seen used at Kemble Flying Club. Not sure how far it goes as I doubt it would cover financials.

We've found Shlott quite good at only £10 pcm inc VAT. With about 80 members and 3-4 aircraft, it copes well. We're just going over to QuickBooks from Sage to enable Making Tax Digital, but we use volunteer labour for most of our admin etc.

I've used flightlogger in the past. Great for an ATO, logging flights and groundschool progress.

Has anyone a good system for online student records, ideally it should be accessible by any instructor plus the student.

I heard £500/£600 a month for early adopters before I passed out.

Hi BirdmanBerry, someone flagged up to me that our system was mentioned in this forum and I wanted to say thanks! Do you fly at KFC?

I'm the lead developer for flightschoolbooking and it does indeed handle billing and exports data in CSV to bookkeeping packages. But it didn't at the time you wrote!
