Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

Got round to firing an email off to flight-crew-licensing at the CAA just now so hopefully in a couple of weeks (well, sometime this year...) we will have their take on it.

Since 'flight-crew-licensing' hasn't existed for quite some time now, you'll be waiting quite a while, I would imagine....

They replied fairly promptly to another query I had before Christmas and I got an automated reply today saying that normal queries are currently being answered in 10 days but to allow 30 days for more complex queries... Sounds in existence to me! Not that they were much help with my last query!

You can download adiagram of the current structure of the CAA here
You will see that there is no FCL any more
Not that they were much help with my last query!
As most of the staff with any knowledge have long gone, a clerk in the Shared Services section will simply quote from a list of FAQs at best.
