Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

Question FRTOL Instructor/Examiner

Can anybody tell me what is required to instruct and examine students for the issue of a FRTOL.

CAP 413 and CAP 22 should cover all of it. You can download CAP413 and CAP 22 from CAA's website.

To instruct - knowledge and credibility.

To Examine - An Authorisation from the CAA.
Qualifications: either ATCO, or Flight Instructor/Examiner.
Must have a Sponsoring Organisation
Pass 3 examiner tests with CAA
There must be a regional requirement for the appointment
