NPPL / LAPL query
Our UK Eurofox taildragger group is planning to start flying next April/May (LAA permit a/c currently being built).
Insurance quotes for the build are confirmed, but flying cover premium normally depends on the least-experienced member of the group (though variable excess might be an option). This will be a pilot who's currently at the solo x-country stage of his NPPL course.
Could anyone direct me to the source material for advising him on NPPL/LAPL, and deadlines for converting?
We also have another group member, a retired ATPL, who's currently on a NPPL. So similar source for him would be useful.

Welcome to the Light Aircraft Association
For NPPL SSEA enquiries try LAA Head Office. Details of what remunerated training may be conducted in LAA aircraft is contained in Technical Leaflet 2.09.
Presently, there is no deadline for converting from NPPL to LAPL if you're flying a non-EASA aircraft. If you wish to continue to fly EASA aircraft then your deadline is 08th April 2015.
