Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

Red Tape Challenge

Issued 11th April 2013:

http://www.lightaircraftassociation....s/red_tape.pdf

Surely this has been issued ten days too late?

The Red Tape Challenge is a cross-Government programme to tackle unnecessary, over- complicated regulation. The default is that regulation should go unless it can be well defended (such as on safety grounds). Even where it stays we aim to reduce burdens in its implementation.
I would urge all Registered Facilities, Head of Training, and instructors to respond.

Forcing rtf's becoming ato's ? The extra costs !
The high expense of avgas, not red tape but crippling cost in GA ! Remove tax ? Or a cap on Avgas ?
I feel it's the cost of flying which is hitting students starting out and PPL's flying.
Is avgas still cheap in America? How does America handle landing fees ?

Red tape challenge

Unfortunately a large volume of red tape with regard to flying light aircraft, now comes from Europe and can not be changed by National legislation! For example; Want to fly a TMG. You could achieve this via three different European licenses, SPL, LAPL or PPL. Sometimes you need a Class rating and sometimes you don't.
