Annex II on G reg and IAA FCL ATPL

A friend of mine has an IAA ATPL( Part FCL) can he fly a g reg annex II aircraft?

The problem being he lives in the UK but holds an IAA licence for work.

Cheers

As the CAA has declared an EASA licence valid on an Annex II aircraft, it doesn't matter who issued it, its still an EASA licence! If the aircraft was EI reg then that's another matter.

nick14, there could well be a problem if your friend tries to fly to the Irish Republic in a G-reg Annex II aircraft using a Part-FCL licence.

The IAA is seeking legal advice concerning the use of Part-FCL licences for this purpose; however, EASA itself is convinced that there is no restriction preventing the use of Part-FCL licences to fly Annex II aircraft of the same Class definition as EASA aircraft.

We hope that the IAA will be suitably convinced.
