PPL CRI and payment

All

Can a ppl now get paid under the new rules if they have a CRI and carry out training?

Yes they can.

However you need to be attached to a facility in order to teach as I understand it.

As a CRI, you don't need to ba attached to an ATO for all of the training you conduct. It is only training towards ISSUE or RENEWAL of Part-FCL licence or rating where training must be carried out within an ATO. Since a CRI can only provide training to a licence holder then it is only really applicable to issue or renewal of a Part-FCL rating. For all other cases, a CRI may continue to act independently.
