Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

FI(A) revalidation/renewal

Good afternoon gents,

Anyone aware of any seminar set up in the near future, preferably in the northern part of the county? An in-house FI-checkman would be also a nice option! My rating has been dormant for 3+ years so I have to go for Condition 2 & 3, I guess...

Regards

DK

The next two Seminars are:

On-Track Aviation (Wellesbourne Airfield) 15/16 October

AOPA Seminars for FI(A) 6 - 7 November 2012 - High Wycombe
Other alternatives are to attend a FI Seminar in another JAA State, if you can find one.

Renewing ME FI

Hi,

My FI is up for renewal soon. My question is though, will I need to renew my FI in a twin in order to still be able to instruct MEP. I have only recently removed that restriction and if it were done on a stand alone basis, i.e. ME CRI course it would last for 3 years. I can't seem to find the answer in LASORS or CAP804. I'm a little out of the loop as I have been instructing for a while now.

Thanks,

Jim.

No, you can renew/revalidate in either a single or twin. If you added the MEP privileges in the last year of the FI rating you could have combined the MEP CRI with the FI re-validation.
