EASA FI(A) revalidation question

I'm looking to revalidate my FI(A) soon and a little confused about the experience requirements.

I have 200 hours instruction in the last 3 years but only 12 hours in the last 12 months (long story).

LASORS says the following;

H1.7 FI(A) REVALIDATION AND RENEWAL
FI(A) Revalidation
For the holder of a FI(A) to revalidate the rating they must
complete 2 of the following requirements:
a. Complete at least 50 hours of flight instruction on
aeroplanes as FI, CRI, IRI or as Examiner during
the period of validity of the rating, including at least
15 hours of flight instruction within the 12 months
preceding the expiry date of the FI rating, 10 hours
of this 15 hours shall be instruction for an IR if the
privileges to instruct for an IR are to be revalidated.
However, CAP 804 states the following WITHOUT the 15 hours in last 12 months requirement;

FCL.940.FI FI – Revalidation and renewal
(a) For revalidation of an FI certificate, the holder shall fulfil 2 of the following 3
requirements:
(1) complete:
(i) in the case of an FI(A) and (H), at least 50 hours of flight instruction in
the appropriate aircraft category during the period of validity of the
certificate as, FI, TRI, CRI, IRI, MI or examiner. If the privileges to
instruct for the IR are to be revalidated, 10 of these hours shall be flight
instruction for an IR and shall have been completed within the last 12
months preceding the expiry date of the FI certificate;
As CAP 804 is the authoritative document (I think), am I ok with what I've got? Or have I missed something and need another 3 hours of instructional work?

CAP 804 does not apply until 17 September 2012 (see para 1.2.1) - until then, LASORS is the closest you will get to an authoritative source for UK licensing.

Just to confuse, my FI(A) expires on 27th September!

Would CAP 804 apply then?

Yes, but you revalidate well before then. And I definitely would.

I'm planning on doing the reval in the next 2 weeks. Got a freind who can do it down south.

Anyway, my plan is this;

Do reval flight with FIE (soon). Wait until after 17th September. Get examiner to sign if off based on EASA rules in CAP 804. Don't need 15 hours in the last 12 months.

Can't go wrong. Can it?
