ATPL ground school exams and CPL exam in same country?

Hi all,

I have a quick question.

If you do you PPL CPL and MEIR in spain but you would like to do the APTL ground school in the UK is it correct that you have to take the ATPL exams in spain? I was told that the reason for this is that your ATPL ground school exams must be taken in the same country as you take you CPL flying exam.

I thought that because of JAA it doesn't matter but maybe i am wrong here.

Anybody came accross this problem?

Thanks
