Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

Booker / Tecnam ?? No probs!!

Nothing sinister, my info says.

Don't you know that pilots want to do other things than push a desk around before the AME gets you for being too decrepit??

'tis a mere longish handover of control of the aerodrome management, as 'appens over the years.

Present chap's not leaving the field, so the grapevine says. He's still a CAA Senior-Examiner whallah and he's still running his Tecnam business.

You'll pay your landing fees to a different bloke, though, is what I hear.

Soon as The Pad's up & running, I'm sure both the old bloke and the new bloke will buy every visitor a tea.

Now if you've got news about that, I'm far more interested in that than I am in the career development of the good cap'n Orchard. All airfields have a manager of some description, but a good cafe really makes a difference.

Completely agree - a decent cafe really makes a difference!

It was a heck of a lot better than no cafe, and the chilli con carne wasn't bad.

The builders breakfast offer was quite decent too!

Meanwhile, I see another airfield is looking for a CFI/Aifield Manager:

Yes as a present member of the UFC I can confirm there is a definite connection.

All I can say is that the person concerned will not be missed.

Good luck with your appointment!
