Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

List of FI(E) in UK.

Does anyone know where I can download or obtain a CAA list of FI(E) as I need to revalidate my FI(A) rating soon. Looked on CAA website but can't find it. Thanks

Not sure there is a list of FIE, but there is a list of every school - standard doc 31. On this you will find all the schools who offer an FIC course, and could ring around finding who they use to examine.

Where do they instruct? Could they not help organise it? You will need an aircraft from somewhere.

It will be interesting to see what happens come July when Part-ARA comes into force. The CAA will then be required by EU law to publish a list of all examiners that they have authorised, along with their privileges. The problem is that the Data Protection Act does not allow the publication of such information without the consent of the individuals, which is why there is currently no published list of examiners.
